About this Course

Completion of this course will allow candidates to teach the Lifesaving Swim for Life program and be considered for employment as a lifeguard swim instructor. The Swim for Life program is a complete learn-to-swim program from parent and Tot through to leadership. The focus is on learning to swim and will replace the Red Cross Water Safety Instructor program. The Lifesaving program focuses on water smart messaging that helps prevent drowning. Candidates will learn to teach hazard recognition and how to safely perform water rescues in every day environments. This course includes a shadow teaching experience and a Swim for Life Instructor Kit. Pre-requisite is Bronze Cross certification.
