Bowen Park Picnic Shelter - Upper (by Kin Pool)

This shelter is located nearest the outdoor pool and lawn bowling green. There are two covered picnic shelters located within the 36 hectare park. SHELTER BY THE POOL: • There is an electrical box located at the end of the picnic shelter (key must be arranged with deposit through allocation clerk facilitybookings@nanaimo.ca). • A water fountain and tap can be found behind the picnic shelter on the left side. Water is available March through October only. • There are no washrooms at the shelter by the pool. If the Bowen Park Complex is open you can access washrooms at that location, otherwise on the lower backside of the Complex are more washrooms. • BBQ's - Propane Only (not allowed during fire ban), no coal or briquettes allowed at all. • Alcohol is not permitted in Bowen Park. ** ELECTRICAL & KEY: It is imperative that you do not overload the circuits as the system will only handle one high energy draw at a time such as a coffee urn or hotplate. A key is required to gain access to the electrical boxes and must be arranged through the Allocation Clerk. ** Ensure the shelter and grounds are left in clean condition with all litter picked up and deposited into the receptacles.
